Cogent is designed to make it easy for you to get things done on your mobile phone. We collect personal information in order to personalize your experience and satisfy your request. For example, when you request Cogent to ‘Google map my meetings’, we use your GPS location data from the phone to plot you current location and directions to the sequence of meetings in you salesforce.com calendar. You govern which information you share with us, and you may modify or delete it any time you choose. You ultimately decide how much information you wish Cogent to know. The Cogent Mobile application works as your Virtual Private Assistant for your CRM.
We may share personal information with partners to complete your transaction request after you confirm it is acceptable for us to do so.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
In order to provide our full range of services, we may collect the following types of information:
- Information you provide.
When you sign up for an account through the Services or other Cogent service or promotion that requires registration, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address and an account password). We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other Cogent services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services. For certain services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information.
- Online Transactions.
If we offer you the opportunity to purchase products or services online and you choose to purchase such products or services, including purchase of subscription services, you may be asked to share personal information in addition to the information provided to create a user account in order to complete a transaction. In addition, you may be asked for information needed to complete your order, contact you to confirm the order, and provide related customer service. This information is used, for example, to effect your transactions, to create and share aggregate reports about these transactions, and to perform credit fraud screening services for transactions between you and Cogent and/or our authorized service providers.

However, some features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. You can decline to submit personal information to any of our services, in which case Cogent may not be able to provide those services to you.

No data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. To protect your information as effectively as possible, Cogent leverages commonly accepted security best practices. All personal information is transmitted via encrypted message (Secured Socket Layer (SSL)), and all Cogent servers are secured and hosted by a tier-one collocation facility provider.
Once we receive your transmission, we make reasonable efforts to ensure security on our systems. We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. How You Can View, Change, or Remove Information
When you use Cogent Services, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. To access your account to edit or correct your information, please go to "Settings" in the Cogent application. To delete your account, please contact us at privacy(at)cogentmobile(dot)com. Some of our services have different procedures to access, correct or delete users' personal information. We provide the details for these procedures in the FAQs for these services.
